Iwas born in Riverside, California, on December 27, 1964. Drawing and painting has always fascinated me. As a child, I would spend hours illustrating stories I'd written, making cartoon flip books or just sketching the world around me. So it wasn't surprising that I decided to pursue art after highschool. alicia

While I was attending the University of California at Santa Barbara, I discovered a book on photorealism and super-realism in the arts library. I was fascinated by the works of Richard Estes, Robert Cottingham, Don Eddy and, especially, Ralph Goings. They had taken mundane objects and scenes and meticulously recorded them in paint, transforming them into something altogether more noble. I've been inspired to do the same ever since.

I currently live in Santa Barbara, California. I share my space with my wonderful boyfriend, Jon, and Vera, my very special cat.
